We have been given a lot of requests over the past few weeks for tuition for beginners, so Graeme and Wendy have asked me to arrange some for you.

Fly casting, fly tying, general tips on technique and types of fly to use and when ,as well as bait fishing how to tie up rigs, knots, how to use equipment for beginners can all be covered.

All for a nominal fee, which can be shared by small groups and with block-booking discounts

So anyone who would like to learn a wee bit more please contact the fishery through the email address enquiries@carbethfishery.com or enquire at the lodge for a number and we’ll get you fishing!

Over and above this, the Carbeth Fluff Chuckers Club has been set up to encourage and share knowledge in the art of fly fishing,  for all. So anyone who would like to get involved and benefit, be you a novice or highly experienced, we’d love to have you join us.

Our first meeting and friendly competition is THIS SUNDAY 26TH APRIL at 9am, hope to see you there.

(Would anyone be interested in forming a Carbeth Maggot Dookers Club for bait fishing? Let me know!)

Tight lines (and no’ inra bushes)

Paul

Hi Scotty, Thanks for the comment and well noted. Part of our plans in the very near future will be to make sure that anglers fill in a returns card so that we’ll be able to spread the news about all our ponds. And look out for the Carbeth Maggot Dookers club and competitions. I’ll get one going for next month. All the best and the tightest of lines, Paul
