Competition reminder!
Hi,
I’ve not been blogging much in the past week or two, so apologies for that. As far as the fishing goes over the period, it’s been a real mixed bag.
Some days being hot and bright, the bait pond has been tricky but not totally impossible, with everybody enjoying their day and developing a nice tan! On other days with a bit more cloud it’s been fishing really well.
I’m still very impressed with the quality and strength of the fish at the moment. As per last blog, you’d expect the fish to be a wee bit lethargic (just like the anglers I suppose!) but no, they’ve been making a really good account of themselves.
On the fly-pond, again various different techniques seemed to be working. There has been a fair profusion of damsel flies hatching, so intermediate lines with a damsel nymph fished up and down the water column has worked, as well as some purists prevailing with dry flies and beetles etc.
Just a short blog today and I’ll wind up by reminding you all that the monthly competition for the ‘maggot dookers’ and ‘fluff chuckers’ will take place this Sunday.
Draw for pegs is at 0830 (THIS ALSO APPLIES TO THE BAIT POND, SO NO HOGGING THE HOT SPOTS AND CAMPING OOT BEFORE WE START!)
Open to all, we hope to see you then.
Till then, tight lines (and no’ upa tree)
Paul
